According to senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Freetown, Foreign Affairs Minister Timothy Kabba has summoned the U.S. Ambassador for a meeting scheduled for Monday, March 17, 2025.
This move follows the announcement of Sierra Leone’s inclusion on a list of 43 countries that could face visa restrictions or travel bans imposed by Washington.
While the exact reasons behind this U.S. decision remain unclear, the summons highlights Freetown’s determination to clarify the situation and defend the interests of its citizens on the international stage.
The discussions between Minister Timothy Kabba and the U.S. Ambassador could have significant implications for diplomatic relations between the two nations in the coming days.
